Girls’ weekend 🩷
Saturday night my daughter and I, and 72,000 others, saw Taylor Swift at Lumen field in Seattle. TayTay broke the internet, is impacting the financial system, and puts on one hell of a show.
Earlier Saturday before the concert, said small human asked me, “Mom, what era are you dressing for?” Sorry, what?
“You know, what Taylor Swift ‘era’ are you going to dress like for the concert?” Ohhhhh. Wait, what?
She also asked me last week what my favorite songs were for bracelet making.
Swifties are no joke.
If only I thought about these things before the day before her first of two nights performing in Seattle. Going with the tween flow.
In short, the show was absolutely incredible.
Each era covered: Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, reputation, Lover, folklore, evermore, Midnights was nothing short of performing genius. The guitar change outs … color-coordinated fabulousness. Taylor Swift for the win.
Taylor Swift. Epic performance.

And then I went to see the Barbie movie that was released this weekend.
Director Greta Gerwig used to date my friend Adam. If we were reliving the Father’s Day 2010 brunch we shared, I would have a hard time giving a pro in the pro/con/pro formula of pop culture reviews I normally stick to.
Aside from a few funny bits early on, it was a hard two hours to stomach. Even watching Ryan Gosling’s actual stomach. And muscles and hair and fanny pack and white fur coat.
Queue all the Halloween 2023 costumes.
POPSUGAR did a great piece, “Barbie’s Beauty Transformation Over the Last 60 Years”. Whether or not it’s true Mattel executives the last few decades haven’t been the biggest advocates for women in leadership, give the Girl some credit, she’s got style.
And career longevity 🏆
