In the early days of Putin’s War, news outlets reported that Russian couldn’t support more than 18 days of offensive action, thanks to financial constraints. By all accounts, those same news organizations mark February 24, 2022 as the first day of the war. Here we are in April …

Philanthropic efforts have kicked into high gear globally, with all sizes along the NGO, or non-gov org working for social good, spectrum, contributing to the humanitarian effort. More good news? Large, publically traded orgs are helping too. Shout-out to one Seattle corporation, and it’s management team, that has stepping up to help locally, in real time. Holland America has a ship in Rotterdam tonight, waiting to accept Ukrainian refugees as early as tomorrow.

The ship is docked in Rotterdam, waiting to house up to 1,500 Ukrainian refugees for the next three weeks, as part of an effort in the Netherlands to quickly help 50,000 people displaced by the war. With the port’s central spot in the city, refugees onboard will be able to easily access local social assistance. That’s good news since these refugees will have already traveled more than 1,300 miles from home.

This American company is making citizens, and shareholders, proud in Holland. Kudos, Holland America. Or, Carnival, I guess, it’s parent company!
