Cheers to 2019!

Happy new year! I love saying this to people every opportunity I get; in fact I have been known to carry those well wishes VERY far into January in typical conversations (sorry not sorry every barista I see)! But why not?! Spread a little good cheer and happy and healthy vibes, right?

In the last few years I’ve noticed a lot less of a focus on “resolutions” in year-end conversations with family and friends. I always hear the typical “I want to get healthier,” “I want to read more,” “I’d like to travel more,” but are these resolutions or merely chit chat filler wishes?

What is a resolution, exactly? Per Dictionary.com, a resolution is a firm decision to do or not to do something. I like that “firm decision” bit. It confirms why I am uneasy with the “I’d like to” statements disguised as resolutions.

So reader friends, what do I resolve to do (or not do!) in 2019?

I resolve to:

  • continue to put my children and my safe care practice at the top of each day’s priority list

  • make better decisions to benefit my health (I want to be around a long time for my children, and around with a healthy, well functioning body)

  • grow my coaching practice and be my clients’ best advocate

  • consciously focus on what I define as the most important areas of my life; that is,

    • Family (/”family”)

    • Field (work I love)

    • Faith

    • Fitness

    • Fun

    • Finances

What are your resolutions this year?

Sending you best vibes and keep in touch with your progress!

Cheers to a great year ahead!
